Then we continue to the fine city of Chester, where we see the Roman Walls, the Tudor architecture and the galleried shops known as the "Rows". Later we head northwards to our hotel in the Lake District, renowned for its magnificent scenery. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Hotel: Holiday Inn Lancafester | | Day 6 | Edinburgh | Lake District - Edinburgh (2 nights) : Admire the magnificent scenery which inspired the poet William Wordsworth to write the renowned "Daffodils". Our Tour Director shows us Wordsworth's house, Dove Cottage, and reveals a Hidden Treasure of the region to us all. Then on to the Scottish capital Edinburgh with a stop at the Moffat Woollen Centre. Hotel: Royal Terrace (2 nights) | | Day 7 | Edinburgh | Edinburgh sightseeing and at leisure : After breakfast our morning sightseeing tour with a local guide includes the elegant New Town, Princes Street, the Royal Mile, views of Holyrood House and Arthur's seat and a guided visit of the apartments inside Edinburgh Castle. The rest of your day is at leisure to explore this fascinating city. Tonight maybe sample some Scottish cuisine at one of the city's many restaurants' (Buffet Breakfast) | | Day 8 | York | Edinburgh - York : Across the Scottish borders to see the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey. Then through the Northumberland National Park to the Viking City of York, where our Tour Director shows us the 'Shambles' and magnificent York Minster. Hotel: Holiday Inn | | Day 9 | London | York - London : We travel to Coventry, home of Lady Godiva, to see its two cathedrals. Then we continue to Stratford-upon-Avon to visit Shakespeare's birthplace and see Anne Hathaway's cottage before a scenic drive through the Cotswolds brings us back to London. (Full Breakfast)
